The bullet went through his uniform. His eyes got wide open and the mouth formed a silent scream. He let the gun fall from his right hand and land with a thud in the wet grass. At the same time his left hand reached the hole in his armour, it had gone right through, the hand was bloody. With his mouth still open he looked around at the trees that were in front of him, it was calm and quiet. Why did the first bullet hit him of all people?
